Wow.  It was an early morning after a relaxing day on Saturday to recuperate.  We hit he breakfast buffet and were off to Guangzhou (GZ) on a  shuttle bus by 9:10 AM.  We arrived at the White Swan Hotel after 2 shuttle buses and a taxi later in time to casually stroll over to the GZ Christ Church.  It looked like a church.  Although it reminded me of some of the Anglican Churches I remember in Malawi AFRICA.  A rainy day and the windows were open allowing the cool humid air to circulate.  Cool is a good thing.  Folks were quite friendly and warm as we found a seat on the all wooden pews in the back of the auditorium.

It's hard not having Grandma and Grandpa here in GZ.  It was so great to be able to share with them everything first hand.  But they did make it home OK, even though it included an all expense paid night in Newark. Oh boy.  Just what you want after traveling for 20 hours.

The services are bilingual which is very helpful and both Chinese and English songs were sung.  Quite a stirring experience for us as we worshipped together for the first time as a family.  Levi seemed to be taking it all in.  The two English  songs we sang were "It is Well With My Soul" and "He Will Make Us Glad".  By then Levi was taking a bottle which we are still very thankful that he is doing now again.  He took a whole one during the praise and worship time.  Could not help but see the spiritual picture of his nourishment during praise and worship--especially during the hymn.  Hard to contain yourself actually.  The "Bible Study" as they referred to the sermon was on Jeremiah 26 & 27.

I left early and walked around outside as were other fathers of adoptive families!  Quite a gathering place for families here to finalize their process in GZ.  Over 10,000 adoptions passed through GZ Consulate last year and 7,000 were US families!

We did some shopping and walking around and had a real treat--STARBUCKS!  That got us home for the day to gear up for the week, laundry, groceries, etc.  OK, so it feels like we're the Beverly Hillbillies in this hotel, but laundry in the bathroom really works for the basics.  We send some things out, but not everything.

We had heard of potential sneers you may get in public for adopting.  We have a few days left and it has been just the opposite.  People have been overly gracious to us when they see Levi with us.  Many times an English speaking person will translate to us spontaneously what is being said--and it is always that we are so kind to take care of their Chinese baby or that we are such living people to do this!  How that makes you feel is hard to describe. --Just cannot.

We are heading off on Monday morning for the medical appointment so we appreciate your prayers.

Here's an email from a family that has been reading our Journal and adopted a little girl from Levi's orphanage.  We were so blessed to hear from the Galan's and hope to meet them some day!  Their daughter is 1 day older than Levi.   Thank you Galan family for your prayers and encouragement from Spain!!!

Here's a prayer request from home--Tim's Aunt has a blockage in the front part of her heart that will require stints.  Please pray for her healing and peace in trusting the Lord as she walks this journey.
