Our last day on Shamain Island and Angela was handling things at the US Consulate.  We did not actually realize that she handles the initial appointment and then we only have to go to the all important swearing in!  That makes everything official!!!  Levi will be a US Citizen on paper and a full naturalized citizen when we return as we left-when walk on US soil that's it!

Hopefully, we will visually pass the watch of the Statue pf Liberty again.  I cannot tell you how that makes you feel. As a US citizen we take/I take so much for granted.  Ellis Island never meant much to me personally.  Until now.

We had fun today-

  • Went to the Guangzhou Zoo so we could see a Giant Panda while we were in China

  • Bought Chinese PJ's for Levi!  He looks like a Mulan!

  • Ate our last lunch at the famous Lucy's.  We really enjoyed the respite.  Mostly the quiet sound and American music in the background

  • Levi laughed a lot today.  He really laughed alot.  What a blessing to hear his laugh.

  • He really does not know what to do with carpet.  He has never seen carpet.

  • He does love his squeaky shoes!  Just wait and you'll hear them coming--

  • Blake and Ethan found their treasures that they had been searching for!

  • The weather was perfect again today.  Not a cloud in the sky and low humidity.

  • Met more wonderful adoptive folks in our circles through the White Swan-it feels like you are at an Adoptive Parent Conference there are so many!

  • Took nostalgic photos from a place that will mean more as the days go by

  • Managed to get ourselves through Guangzhou by taxi while Angela was at the Consulate!

  • White Swan red couch photo--Phoenix gold couch photo tomorrow!!!!

  • On our way out of town we did once again stop by Starbucks to keep us going a little longer.

  • Finalized plans to make it to the swearing in at the Consulate with Angela and really and truly began the packing process.

It will feel absolutely fantastic to be home.  But honestly you kind of feel torn between two countries.  Not that I will ever be Chinese.  But our son is.  It's so very hard to describe.

We have to get rest for the marathon ahead.

Intercede for us--

Good rest!

More energy than we thought we had-

Safe travels with all the connections and luggage . . .

Final paperwork complete and approved!

Our presence at the appointment at the appointed time

Levi's continued bonding-you just don't realize how it's so different in a few days

Levi sleeps well and is a very peaceful time on the plane--remembering he slept well the last flight

As we travel that we will continue to find those along the way we are to meet, just as we have so far, and that we will share the blessing of crossing paths

We are so thankful for many, many people.  At Carson-Dellosa for covering this long time out of the office, for all the things done at home like vacuuming, mowing, getting our paper/mail, babysitting our little girls Darcy & Sophie, getting a car seat and putting it in, stocking our fridge with Saturday morning (and I'm thinking a bit more) essentials plus select craved for items,  the ongoing web site uploading as I email or try to email journals and photos, emails of encouragement and prayer and there's more!  We are blessed.

It's 10:30 China Time; 9:30 eastern Time.  Good night and good morning.
